JUNE 4th- PORTRAITS OF COURAGE DEBUT!

We want to thank everyone for making the debut of Portraits of Courage on June 4th a night to remember! It was so great to share these moving stories with a sold out theater and continue to learn more from the elders!

We first want to thank Sioux Falls State Theatre for providing us with a gorgeous venue, technical assistance, and valuable insights!

Next, we want to thank the incredible team at Hazard Film Project and Bravely Made Media, especially Daniel Bergeson! Thank you for going above and beyond to make these amazing documentaries that exceeded even our highest expectations. We are so grateful for your artistry, collaboration, creativity, and empathy.

We want to take the opportunity to extend a special thank you to the three storytellers: Chandradhar, Nieema, and Nitza, for bravely and authentically sharing your experiences by being the subjects of our videos and taking the time to answer audience questions. You have contributed to something incredibly important that already has and will continue to make a difference in this state! Thank you for having the courage to share your stories.

Finally, we want to thank all of you who attended! Your willingness to learn and grow by bearing witness to these stories is what will truly help make South Dakota a diverse, inclusive, and anti-racist state. Thank you for laughing, crying, and learning with us!

OUR NEXT SCREENING: JULY 11th at 6 PM!

We are so excited to announce that we are having another screening of Portraits of Courage on July 11th at 6pm at the Downtown Library in Sioux Falls. This event has free admission, and Chandradhar, Nieema, and Nitza will be back for another panel discussion.

SUMMER OUTREACH IN OUR COMMUNITY!

We have also been out and about this summer with Community Outreach events. You may have seen us at Juneteenth or the Festival of Cultures, educating the community about SDVFP,
Medicaid Expansion, and voter registration!
