THE MONTHLY- JULYHATE HAS NO HOME IN SOUTH DAKOTA!South Dakota Voices for Peace was founded in the midst of a time of intense bigotry and discrimination towards immigrant, refugee, and Muslim communities. Unfortunately, this month we were made aware of an event where an Islamophobic speaker was featured. Together with other community organizations and leaders, we called this event for what it was- damaging and fearmongering. We will always advocate for a diverse and inclusive South Dakota where ALL are welcome. Click here to read our full coalition statement. Our CEO, Taneeza Islam, was interviewed by Dakota News Now in response to this event. Watch the full interview here. COMMUNITY CANVASSINGThis summer, we have had an amazing group of community canvassers going door-to-door with information about Medicaid Expansion, Voting, and South Dakota Voices for Peace!
